It took a couple of weeks, but finally one of the FC crew sucked it up and saw Tim Burton's latest remake Alice in Wonderland starring the people he usually casts. Anna was the one with the gumption and apparent free time, so click the still and read her review and comment if you agree or disagree!

Writer: Jonathan Sullivan A day ago, I wrote up a news piece on Film Junk where I talked about how the news broke that Marvel Studios has "officially" offered the role of Captain America to Chris Evans. Best known for his roles in the Fantastic Four films, this would be another superhero feather in his cap. I, for one don't agree. I have nothing against him, I actually think he's pretty funny in certain movies, but I think that this is not a good move. Marvel and Evans' agency the CAA have yet to confirm this though, so it may just be heresay like the other casting rumors that have been thrown around (John Krasinski? Now that would be the definition of miscasting).
If any FC readers exist and aren't too timid, are you for or against Chris Evans becoming Captain America? Can a weird-eyed vampire and a whiny vampire-loving girl really be rock stars? See if it's possible as Anna brings to you the trailer for the new film "The Runaways", out now in limited release.
Jon has been evil and stealing trailers from Anna (he apologizes), but he could just sit back as the trailer for The Switch has come out. Involving wrong sperm, turkey basters, and...shudder...Jennifer Aniston, this comedy actually kind of looks good. Click the picture of the two leads to see the trailer and read more thoughts by him.
Writer: Jonathan Sullivan As The Expendables gets closer and closer to release, more is being revealed. Today, they have released the official poster for the film. It's a simple design: a skull surrounded by guns that form wings, with the last name of all the major stars on it (minus certain cameos). You have to hand it to the people who designed the poster: they totally know the film's demographic. The Expendables comes out August 13, 2010. Check out the poster after the jump.
The teaser trailer for the next Dreamworks Animated movie "Megamind" has dropped, and Jon's all over it with his sweaty man hands. In a not weird way. Probably. Regardless, click the picture watch the little bit they give you, read the comments, and RESPOND PLEEEEASE.
Carrie Bradshaw is back and clearly more sparkly than ever. Click the link to see the trailer and read Anna's mini-rant against this franchise!
Writer: Jonathan Sullivan Edgar Wright's (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) new film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World has been on my radar since day one. I love the graphic novel series it is based on and Edgar Wright has proven himself to direct movies that don't suck, as well as being one of the brainchilds behind the awesome BBC Show Spaced. The poster for the film has been released and I present it to you dear Film Calamity readers...after the jump! SUSPENSE!
Sometimes contributor Dan Ludwig has sent me his review/sociopathic rant on the French film Immortel, which is apparently completely insane and ridiculous. Click the poster to read his words, but if you are easily offended or hate swears, you may not want to.
FC's resident trailer nerd Anna is back with Zack Snyder's new film Legend of the Guardians based on books by a crazy owl lady. Click the picture of these cute little creatures to check out the trailer and read her thoughts (not literally). |
